Mobile Power, a UK-based tech company, delivers affordable clean energy to off-grid communities in Africa. Globally, 1 billion people lack access to electricity, yet existing off-grid solutions can only commercially reach the wealthiest 15%. Mobile Power’s innovation can profitably reach over 90% of the market, while saving poor households 15% of their total income. This directly contributes to SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 1 (No Poverty).

3B Impact works with Mobile Power to embed its impact strategy and scale its business. We do this by:

• Helping Mobile Power to articulate the link between its commercial model and social impact, and win GBP 1.85 million of UK Government funding.
• Reducing risks and improving opportunities for women, supporting SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and establishing strategic partnerships supporting SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
• Undertaking impact assessments and leading research to support human-centred product development and commercialisation.
• Assisting Mobile Power’s
  GBP 2 million equity raise, developing strategy and pitch materials, building a data room and engaging with potential investors.
