Stephen is a Partner at 3B Impact, based in the UK. He brings together over 20 years of experience in social and environmental impact strategy, governance and evaluation for global and national companies, foundations and donors, with first-hand experience managing over £100 million in grant funding and scaling socially-impactful companies.Stephen is a longstanding senior advisor to the UK Government’s Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) and expert impact assessor for the Higher Education Funding Council for England’s Research Excellence Framework (REF). Stephen was formerly KPMG’s global liaison delegate to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
Ediane is a Partner at 3B Impact, based in the UK. Ediane’s passion for sustainable business started over 15 years ago at KPMG UK, working with a wide range of global clients on climate change and social impact, including DFID’s Global Poverty Action Fund. She has also worked with the public sector in the UK through Coram-i, the consultancy arm of the UK’s oldest children’s charity.Her in-house sustainability roles include Braskem, based in Brazil, with global remit, and Anglo American, which focused on socio-economic development programmes in South Africa. At Braskem she further developed her experience in harnessing innovation to deliver social and environmental impact through the creation of Braskem Labs, an open innovation programme. She also led the review of the company’s global sustainability strategy and the development of a sustainable procurement programme, as well as being responsible for sustainability reporting, community development programmes and donations.
Bex is a Partner at 3B Impact with 14 years’ experience in public and private sector consulting. She specialises in international development programme strategy and design, monitoring and evaluation, government capacity building and public policy research. Her areas of interest are international trade, private sector development and humanitarian aid effectiveness.
John is an Associate Partner at 3B Impact, based in the UK. He is passionate about multilateralism, innovation and helping businesses and institutions transform to a more sustainable and equitable future. John is a trained journalist and authentic communicator. He began his career in infrastructure development and finance focused on renewable energy. He joined KPMG in 2014 and launched a new team in India to support the firm’s Global Infrastructure business with research, analysis, financial modeling and econometrics. He was then seconded into HM Treasury to implement a cross-Government strategy forming the United Kingdom’s policy response to China’s Belt & Road Initiative. In 2020, he launched KPMG IMPACT to a Global network of member firms across 145 countries. John provided strategic direction and narrative to the initiative as it rapidly evolved to successfully deliver the firm’s first Global ESG Strategy. He currently focuses on helping start-ups, and remains actively engaged on infrastructure investment through his work with the IPFA.
Dr Jess Jones is a Senior Affiliate of 3B Impact, based in Sierra Leone. As a Researcher and Lecturer at the Department of Development Studies at the University of Makeni, Jess focuses on social change and gender relations, especially in relation to large-scale mining, conflict and international development initiatives.Jess teaches modules including Gender and Natural Resource Management and Research Methods. She leads 3B Impact research and data collection in West Africa.
Monica is an Affiliate Partner at 3B Impact. Monica is the Head of Programmes for Higher Education at the British Council. She has over 20 years of experience in aid effectiveness, accountability, risk management and programme quality assurance, including in fragile contexts, including as a Director at the UK Disasters Emergency Committee and Director of the Ethiopia-Canada Cooperation Office. Monica supports 3B Impact’s work with the Independent Commission for Aid Impact and on counter-fraud issues.
Abdullah is an analyst at 3B Impact, with a bachelor’s degree in Law and completing a Masters in Management. He has strong leadership skills developed through his experience, which includes serving as a non-executive director at Kent Union where he expanded foodbank provision to the student community, leading 700 cadets as College Junior Under Officer at military school in Pakistan, working as a research analyst in applied psychology for corporates, investors and sports persons, and managing his family farm overseeing operations and staff.
Emily is a graduate business analyst at 3B Impact. She has a BA in Sociology, and has also studied for an MA in Social Research at The University of Sheffield. Emily’s general areas of interest stem from her Sociology degree, and broadly include understanding societal structures, relationships, and behaviours. She is excited to leverage these areas of interest alongside her knowledge of social research methodologies. With a keen interest in social dynamics and a passion for transformative projects, Emily is dedicated to helping 3B’s partners and clients thrive whilst making a positive mark on society.
