Spring Fibre

Spring Fibre is building a full-fibre broadband network, focusing on installing ultra-fast broadband in the parts of the UK that have until now have been left behind. The organisation believes that everyone should benefit from the opportunities that come with ultrafast broadband – better free time, better education, and better business.

Spring Fibre aims to be a leader in sustainability in its sector. As part of achieving this ambition, and in preparation for reporting to its stakeholders, the organisation sought help from 3B Impact to understand, reduce and report on its current greenhouse gas emissions.

3B Impact reviewed and confirmed Spring Fibre’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions, the direct and indirect emissions from its operations, and drafted recommendations for improvement. We helped identify a framework for calculating Scope 3 (downstream) emissions and estimating Scope 4 (avoided) emissions. Finally, we built Spring Fibre a carbon footprint calculator and templates for future reporting.

Here's what the client said:
The team at 3B was responsive and flexible yet provided solid guidance and steer towards the agreed outcome. 3B consultants were incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to share insights and explain concepts and reasons behind data/decisions/recommendations. This allowed our team to gain a better understanding of carbon emissions and carbon accounting in general.
