The FCDO leads the UK’s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world. It is responsible for £9 billion in development finance in emerging markets through British International Investment (BII) and holds a portfolio of direct investment in India’s transition and development priorities. These investments support economic development, job creation and the green transition.
3B Impact worked with FCDO investment team in India to engage with UK-based institutional investors, family offices and other key stakeholders, including UK Treasury, to assess investment preferences of UK institutional investors, and how the industry could be mobilised to support emerging opportunities in high-growth markets (HGMs).
We engaged with investors and advisors including pension funds, insurance companies, other limited partners, asset managers, private equity, venture capital, family offices, financial advisors, legal advisors, relevant NGOs and impact funds, policymakers, sector specialists and industry associations to inform our research. This included convening and hosting roundtable events on:
